When Do D&R Benefits Start?

The initial 119 calendar days after you become Totally Disabled are known as the Elimination Period. Once the 119-day Elimination Period is satisfied and your D&R claim is approved, you are eligible to receive D&R Benefits. During the 119-day Elimination Period, you may be eligible for sick pay, banked paid time or vacation pay from your Employer, or Employment Insurance Sickness Benefits.
